Hey brothers. We regret to inform you that Minescape will be shutting down it’s Minecraft server in a few days. It’s sad, we know, but it is an inevitable choice that has been looming over us for the past year, and was bound to happen eventually. Unfortunately, not all admins could continue to dedicate their time and talents to the server that we all love; real life responsibilities and families take priority over video games. And the admins that had time to dedicate, with the help of dedicated players, tried, but were unable to rebound the dying server back into it’s regular livelihood. We are truly sorry that you will no longer be able to play on Minescape, but we have decided that it is for the best that we shut it down.
However, we will still be here. Minescape is forever, and our community will never die. The website and the TeamSpeak server will continue to be open, welcoming those who wish to join us on our new adventures. Think of this as not the end, but the beginning. The majority of us will frequent the TeamSpeak, playing games together, indefinitely. So, if you still want to hang out with the community that has been forming for the past two and a half years, you can always drop by and visit every once in a while, or even become a regular that visits every day. Minecraft was a game that really meant something to us, and we are very sad to see our time in it end, but it is time to move on to greater things.
And now, a farewell from some of our staff:
DeAdMaN - Those who I have gotten to know over the years, I value these experiences/memories and will never forget all the great times we have had. Thank you Minescape, for all the wonderful people I have met and gotten to know, all the fun builds we have done over the years, all the late nights worrying about the server "laggggggggggggg", my admins for doing a great job and just being awesome. This has been an experience I will never forget and I will treasure it always. Yeah Brothers............................
Tater - I stumbled upon this server, early November 2011, looking for a small server that hadn’t quite developed, so that I could have some sort of effect on the community. I think it’s safe to say, I was more than successful. Deadman took me in and made me a part of his staff, and through him, I met a lot of great people and have had countless experiences. For that, I will never be able to thank him enough. From the early memories of digging houses out of hills, to the recent ones, of moderating chat and setting regions, Minescape has been my home for two and a half years. I would like to personally thank each and every one of you, Guests, Members, Donators, VIPs, MVPs, Heroes, MIBs and Admins alike, for being a part of such a great chapter of my life. Although it was just a game, I will remember these moments for as long as I shall live.
Kat - When I first came to Minescape, we were a small community of about 10-15 players and a wise old man named DeAdMaNWaLkIn had told me that if I wanted my region protected, I would have to cough up $30. This sounded like a good idea but I thought, "Why not play a few days to see how legit this offer is". My buddy Yabbet must’ve immediately taken a liking to Dead because he donated the first day. After a few months of Guest then VIP then TeamLeader, I was finally asked to become one of the greats, an Admin Rec :D I honestly have had one of the best times throughout this 2 1/2 year period with all of you, if you got to come into Teamspeak or Mumble and play other games besides Minecraft with me, you had the chance to see the less serious side of me and see what I love to do. I'm just glad to be here for the beginning and the end of the server and all of you have made that happen with your donations and time dedicated to the server. Thanks.
Mcov - My dear Minescapians...where do I began? You guys are the best. From the first day I joined, over three years ago, it has been non-stop fun and excitement. I am very sad to see the server come to an end, but I think we all knew that it would happen one day. Nevertheless, I want to thank you all for being such a positive influence on my life. I have met some truly amazing people through the server and never thought I could have such awesome times through a game as simple as Minecraft. I have never found in any other server or game with such a strong and inviting community as Minescape. Just thinking through how much the server changed in the 3+ years has blown my mind, and the fact that you guys were there, helping it change, and making it stronger and stronger through those changes. A community is only as strong as its members, and you guys are the best. I hope that you have all had good times on Minescape. It is definitely an experience I will never forget. In closing, I would like to thank all the admins for helping Dead and the other admins; no matter where they are now, I will never forget how much you have helped the server. Finally, I would like to thank DeAdMaNWaLkIn75 for giving me so many opportunities on the server. He is without a doubt, one of the best guys I have met, and did so much work behind the scenes that most of you guys never got to see. Without his dedication, the server would not have made it this long. Goodbye Minescape, it was a pleasure to hang with all you guys and I wish you all the best in the future.
Toxic - Over the years, I have had a great time on Minescape. I met a lot of cool people, making this experience with Minecraft, a great one. It gave me a creative outlet and pastime that helped me develop skills, like graphic design. As far as games go, Minecraft was the one that I was most invested in, and I have Minescape to thank for that. And although things change, and eventually dissipate, the memories of good times in the server will stay with me and, for that, I value Minescape. I would like to thank DeAd, for being the awesome brother that he is, for up-keeping the server and giving me the chance to do as I did. I would also like to thank my fellow admins for the great times, good vibes, and their help supporting the server that I held so dear. And lastly, I would like to thank the players of Minescape, for being understanding, entertaining, and choosing Minescape as their home. Cheers ;)
Tele -This is a rant. Except the opposite of a regular rant. This is a rant about how much I just love Minescape. I've played Minecraft for a little over three and a half years now and over that time I have had to have played on at least 50 different servers with my 7 very close friends (not including mod servers such as Tekkit and Hack/Mine). Not one of those servers welcomed me and my friends like Minescape did. We all get along with the admins and the owner too, in fact we have created new friendships with them and the many players on Minescape. A couple of my friends have moved on from being regulars to this server but I didn't, and I am so glad I didn't because when I go into Minescape I feel like I know everyone and everyone knows me. Like we are a big family who just want to play and create together. It is fantastic. So to sum it all up I love Minescape, I feel so patriotic about the community and it's players. The need to protect the two is great in my mind. Just...I'd get so fired up when I join the server, I don't even like building much anymore I like talk to the people and help them out with redstone contraptions or whatever they need. It is just.........dasldgh79py4hiotjkg love it.
(Any admins that wish to add their goodbye, contact Tater)
We encourage you to stick around, hang out on the website, and play games with us in TeamSpeak, so that we can stay in touch and still have fun. Our community has built strong bonds, and will continue to be around, as long as you are around. A huge thanks to every person that has donated money to keep the server going for the past two and half years, without you, all of this wouldn't have been possible. We thank you for sticking with the server, until the end, and we look forward to seeing you stay around for the times to come.
I leave you with this very appropriate video.
Thank you all so much.See ya later, brothers.
